Located in the province of Isfahan, and a few kilometers from the city of Kashan, the archaeological site of Siyalk is composed of two hills in 600 m distant from each other, named Hill North and South. The site was first investigated in the 1930s by a French team led by Roman Ghirshman and the results of the studies allowed the establishment at the time of a chronology of late prehistoric times in the Iranian high plateau . After seventy years of neglect, several Iranian teams resumed the search on the site. It is established that the occupation dates back to the late seventh millennium BC. until the fourth millennium BC., to which must be added the presence of a necropolis dating from the late second millennium BC.
